With springtime fast approaching, Ive started working on the Jeep again, as well as helping CJ get his garage in order for this season’s car maintenance.
During my winter research, I found a few interesting facts about the Jeep parts I have, and also some rumors about what the Jeep actually is…
Our Jeep History:

Our Jeep was purchased from a private owner in Lancaster, OH on May 1, 2004,
billed as a 1946 CJ2A. The amount paid was $300 and was in very poor
condition. The wife and I did a non-stop, round trip, from Des Moines, IA to
Lancaster, OH and back again to retrieve it.

We just suffered a harddrive failure (as you might be able to tell from the theme, but it seems that was all that was lost). The main harddrive in a set failed, forcing me to bring the secondary online and make it bootable. Good thing we had it.
Now for the bad news. We are currently operating without a live backup. If this drive fails, there will be NO recovery of the site. PERIOD.
I have already started looking into acquiring the hardware to get this situation fixed.
Stay tuned.

Boy, did I let this lapse…
Anyway, I was laid off from ING last November due to an outsourcing initiative. At least it wasn’t an offshoring one. Anyway, I wasn’t picked up by the incoming firm initially (wrong list or some such), but an IBM manager called late in the evening on December 18, 2003. I accepted the positiion the next day, and officially started working for IBM on the 31st.
So, I was really never without a job, just out looking for a replacement. Had the thing come to it’s final conclusion, my last day would have been January 15th of this year.
